CLARIN ERIC
Since September 2015 Franciska de Jong has been the executive director of CLARIN ERIC. CLARIN (Common LAnguage Resources and Technology INfrastructure) is the European research infrastructure that has the objective to provide scholars in the humanities and social sciences seamless access to digital language data and processing tools all across Europe. She studied at Utrecht University and did a PhD in theoretical linguistics. Currently, her main research interests are in the field text mining, cross-language retrieval, the disclosure of cultural heritage collections (in particular spoken audio archives), and e-research at large. Next to her position at CLARIN she is a full professor of e-Research for the Humanities at Utrecht University. She is also a member of the board of the Netherlands eScience Center (since 2014), the EOSC-hub project management board (since 2018), and the executive board of ERIC Forum (since 2020). She was local co-chair of the DH2019 conference in Utrecht.
